The second meeting of the Board of Studies of the Department of Islamic Studies, University of Chitral, was held on Monday, September 29, 2025. The meeting commenced with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an.
Professor Dr. Janas Khan from the Department of Islamic Studies and Religious Affairs, University of Malakand, participated virtually. The distinguished members in attendance included Dr. Ghiyas Uddin, Assistant Professor, Mr. Atiq ur Rehman, Assistant Professor, and Mr. Ubaid ur Rehman, Assistant Professor, Department of Islamic Studies, Government Degree College Chitral; Ms. Tahira Gul, Assistant Professor, Department of Islamic Studies, Government Girls Degree College Chitral; Dr. Abad ur Rehman, Head of the Department of Islamic Studies, University of Chitral; as well as faculty members of the University of Chitral, Maulana Naqeebullah Razi and Dr. Faisal Mehmood.
The meeting was presided over by Dr. Abad ur Rehman, who welcomed the participants and expressed his gratitude to all members and guests.
During the session, a comprehensive review of the MPhil Islamic Studies and AD/BS Islamic Studies programs was carried out in light of the HEC Undergraduate and Graduate Policy 2025. The Board unanimously approved the revised courses in accordance with the policy.
Furthermore, the Board approved the inclusion of the course “Understanding the Qur’an” in both undergraduate and graduate degree programs, effective from Fall 2025. Courses related to Seerah Studies for the BS programs were also reviewed and approved.
The meeting concluded with a supplication led by Maulana Naqeebullah Razi.
