Dr.
Riaz Hussain, Head of AKU-IED’s Professional Development Center Chitral (PDCC),
held a productive meeting with Prof. Dr. Hazir Ullah, Vice Chancellor of the
University of Chitral, to discuss potential collaborations. The discussion emphasized
the importance of strengthening partnerships between academic institutions and
development organizations to address the socio-economic challenges of the
region. The discussion focused on exploring joint initiatives that would
enhance research, promote innovation, and foster capacity-building programs for
students and faculty.
Prof.
Dr. Hazir Ullah highlighted the University’s ongoing efforts to serve as a hub
of knowledge and innovation for the region and extended a warm invitation to
all government and non-government organizations for collaboration to serve the
community. “The future MoUs with AKU will focus on knowledge-sharing, capacity
building, join degree program, student exchanges, research and practical
interventions for regional development,” said Prof Dr Hazir Ullah.
The
Head of PDCC expressed keen interest in aligning professional development
priorities with the University’s research and community engagement agenda.
“This collaboration has the potential to create sustainable solutions that will
benefit not only Chitral but the entire province,” said Dr. Hussain. He gifted
a book “Teaching and Teacher Education in Pakistan” to the Vice Chancellor,
University of Chitral.
The meeting
concluded with a shared commitment to formalize the partnership through MoUs in
the near future, paving the way for new avenues for academic research, skill
development, and local community uplift.
