The University of Chitral and the Kalash Valleys Development Authority (KVDA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at promoting cooperation in academic and research activities. The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Hazir Ullah, Vice Chancellor of the University of Chitral, and Mr. Minhas Uddin, Director General of the Kalash Valleys Development Authority. The signing ceremony took place in the main conference room of the University of Chitral.
Speaking on the occasion, both parties emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration to address the developmental needs of the Kalash Valleys through joint research, knowledge sharing, and capacity-building initiatives. The partnership will also provide opportunities for students and faculty to engage in community-centered research that supports sustainable development and preservation of the unique cultural heritage of the Kalash communities. As per the MoU, scholarships will be available for both Kalasha students and Muslim students.
The ceremony was attended by Additional Registrar Dr. Sahib Khan; Additional Director Administration, Dr. Nadeem Hassan; Additional Director Finance, Dr. Fahad Jan; and Additional Director ORIC, Dr. Roman, along with senior faculty and staff of the University, as well as KVDA board members Mr. Sartaj Ahmed Khan and Syed Harir Shah, who appreciated this milestone initiative and expressed their commitment to making the collaboration productive and impactful.
