Mr. Hafiz Ullah,
a Lecturer in the Department of Botany at the University of Chitral, recently
garnered international recognition for the institution by presenting his
research at the Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden and Research Center in China.
Selected as one of only two representatives from Pakistan, he took part in the
Botanical Garden Development and Management Training Course and Knowledge
Exchange Program. During his talk on “Ethnobotanical Heritage of Chitral and
Plant Biodiversity”, he shared insights into the unique plant wealth of
Chitral and highlighted the conservation needs of the endemic flora of the
Hindu Kush region. By stressing the urgency of biodiversity conservation in a
changing climate. His contribution was highly appreciated by the IABG community
of scientists at Shanghai.
