• University of Chitral Hosted an Iinitial Meeting with University of Central Asia for Collaboration

    Mr. Aliyor Marodaseynov, Programme Coordinator for Mountains Universities from University of Central Asia ((UCA), Tajikistan, Kyrgyz Republic, and Kazakhstan), visited University of Chitral (UoCh).
    The purpose of the visit was to explore areas of mutual interest and potential collaboration among the mountainous universities, including UoCh, UCA, and Kurakuram International University (KIU).
    During the meeting, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Hazir Ullah provided an overview of the University of Chitral's achievements and challenges. The discussions led to the identification of several key areas for potential collaboration, including:
    Information Technology Infrastructure: Establishing cutting-edge AI and cyber security labs to support academic and research activities.
    Tourism and Hospitality: Promoting tourism and hospitality in the region and promoting the unique cultural and natural heritage of Chitral.
    Kalasha Community Research Centre: Establishing a research centre focused on the Kalasha community, preserving their culture, and promoting research initiatives.
    Natural Disaster Alert System: Collaborating on the installation of an alert system for detecting natural calamities such as floods and earthquakes in the seismic and flood prone region of Chitral
    Climate Change: Exploring potential collaborations on climate change research and initiatives.
    Students & Teachers Exchange Programs: Exploring the opportunities for exchanging students and teachers among mountainous universities to benefit from each other programmes and cultures.
    The honorable guest was accompanied by Dr. Aftab Ahmed Khan Head of Computer Science Department from KIU, and several officials from the University of Chitral, including Additional Director Academic Dr. Nizamud Din, Additional Director Admin Dr. Nadeem Hassan, and Head of Computer Science Dr. Muhammad Sadiq Khan were also present on this occasion.
    The guests were given a campus tour, and they were briefed about the university's facilities, computer labs, and infrastructure.
    At the end of the visit, Mr. Aliyor presented a traditional Central Asian cap to the Vice Chancellor, and the Vice Chancellor presented a traditional Chitrali cap (Pakool) and a souvenir to the respected guest. This exchange symbolized the hospitality and potentials for future collaboration between the two institutions.
