The University of
Chitral and the Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP) have entered into a
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen mutual cooperation and promote
capacity-building initiatives for students and faculty.
Under the MoU, both institutions will collaborate in
several key areas, including:

Training 50
final-year students (with at least 75% female participation)
through a four-day session based on YESS modules.
·
Training 12
final-year students (with at least 75% female participation)
in a four-day session on 21st-century skills.
·
Engaging
at least three certified faculty trainers to facilitate and
support the training sessions.
The MoU was formally signed by Prof. Dr. Hazir
Ullah, Vice Chancellor, University of Chitral, and Mr. Sajjad
Hussain, Regional Programme Manager, AKRSP, during a ceremony held at
the University’s Conference Room.
The signing ceremony was attended by key officials,
including Dr. Muhammad Romman, Additional Director ORIC; Mr.
Zia ur Rahman, Manager Innovation and Commercialization; and Dr.
Rizwan Ullah, Head of the Department of Management Sciences, who
expressed their commitment to expanding collaborative opportunities and
enhancing student capacity.
The event was further graced by the presence of senior
university officials, including Dr. Sahib Khan, Additional
Registrar, and Dr. Muhammad Irshad, Additional Director
Planning and Development.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor highlighted
the importance of strategic partnerships with development organizations like
AKRSP in equipping students with essential skills for the modern workforce. He
emphasized that the initiative would particularly benefit female students,
fostering greater participation and leadership opportunities.
